19th Hole Academy Pvt. Ltd., a flagship academic branch of the 19th Hole Group, opened its doors on 6th July at Arambagh, West Bengal. The Academy offers a 2D Animation Diploma along with a 4-month Production Training at 19th Hole Studios Pvt. Ltd. The 12-month 2D Animation Diploma is designed to prepare students for animation opportunities in the fields of TV, film, game, and online production. In addition to both classical and digital animation, the 2D Animation Diploma curriculum includes in-depth drawing classes, concept art, character design, background painting/design, and a sequence of visual language, storytelling and storyboarding classes.

- Use storytelling skills to create, develop and execute animation sequences.
- Produce hand-drawn and/or computer-generated drawings using fundamental principles of art, design and composition.
- Use a variety of tools and technologies to create, capture and animate elements.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of animation projects.
- Produce layouts and backgrounds with attention to composition, perspective and color.
- Present a visual concept to a target audience.
- Use computer skills and appropriate digital asset management techniques to function effectively within a production pipeline.
- Develop, assemble and present a demo reel or portfolio in a manner that meets current industry expectations, and highlights one’s creativity, skills and proficiency with relevant animation software and related technologies.
- Model and rig objects, characters and background elements.
In a press conference, CEO D.Tamil Azhagan expressed his views of setting up an academy at Arambagh,
“Animation is a 30.5 billion INR industry. Majority of the artists are from West Bengal, however, there are many small towns and villages who are still unaware of this industry.
