Rural Rajasthan is not reporting its
symptoms because of which lakhs of
corona affected villagers are going
unnoticed. This is happening due to
underlying stigmas in villagers towards
Coronavirus and the fear of community
rejection. To overcome these challenges,
recently, we have formulated & tested
an online-mobile app Corona Kawach
Saathi (कोरोना कवच साथी) based
strategy at the village-ward level to win
over the current Covid-19 challenge
across the state - Rajasthan. According
to our pilot testing in Maheshwara Khurd
Gram Panchayat – district Dausa, this
app is proving to be a unified platform
for regional trained volunteers, admin-
istration, governance, public, medical
doctors to work together in fighting this
pandemic. In this plan, now we aim to
prepare 3.5 lakh, regional volunteers, for
the mobile app with the name of Corona
Kawach Saathi “कोरोना कवच साथ ी”
for self-discipline awareness, contact
tracing and medicines & food packets’
delivery to ensure zero movements in the
villages for eliminating any chances of
3rd or 4th wave as being predicted by
the experts. This can save around 1 crore
rural households of Rajasthan from this
current pandemic. Simulatneously, we will
also be preparing these volunteers at the
village level itself for optimum utilization of
natural resources to build local successful
rural economies post-pandemic and also
as disaster management teams. This will
help Rajasthan to take off from the coming
economic downfall post this Covid-19
pandemic by ensuring the required GDP
growth and creation of rural jobs. We
have named this campaign “Rajasthan
– Corona Kawach Abhiyaan कोरोना
कवच अभि यान”. The related mobile app
has also been named Corona Kawach
Saathi “कोरोना कवच साथ ी”. We have
also prepared training modules, Covid-19
guidelines -pamphlets & graphics,
messages for the public & other IEC mate-
rial, etc. required for this campaign.
This pilot testing has been covered in
Rajasthan’s top electronic and print media
channels like ZEE Rajasthan, Dainik
Bhaskar, News 18, First India, Rajasthan
Patrika, etc.
